Gameplay:

Samurai Champion is a rhythm based boss rush game where you must time your dodges to the beat, as the bosses move to it.  The game requires fast reflexes and planning on the part of the player to take advantage of the bosses openings.

Role: Lead Programmer, Background artist, Sound Designer

Project Length: 1 month

Background:
  • This game was created as my final for Game Design Workshop at Fitchburg State University in the Spring of 2020.
  • The game was challenging to create, as syncing up the bosses to the music was not an easy task.
  • The game is inspired by the anime Samurai Champloo, by Shinichirō Watanabe, and I tried to emulate the shows mix of samurai imagery and hip hop beats.
